Amanda is a village in Fairfield County, Ohio. Amanda was founded around 1830. A post office has been in operation at Amanda since 1832. Public education in Amanda is administered by the Amanda Clearcreek Local Schools district. Amanda has a public library, a branch of the Fairfield County District Library. They newly opened Ed Wolfe Memorial Park, is one mile southeast of the property on Amanda Southern Road Southwest. The village is located 10 miles west of Lancaster and 10 miles east of Circleville. Amanda is primarily a farm community although they do have some industry. Amanda is home to Mid West Fabricating Co. headquarters, a 125,000 sq. ft modern manufacturing site, where they use cold forming of steel into special fasteners and formed rods. The community has approximately 800 residents and approximately 320 homes/businesses. They also have two brand new schools that service the village and the surrounding communities.
